Making it “Smart”
To get this working with your home hub, we use a high-amperage relay. Here is the thing: these heaters pull a lot of power. If you use a cheap, flimsy relay, the contacts can actually weld themselves shut. Not great. But when you do it right, you can create a “Wake Up” scene in your app. One tap, and the cold shock of winter is gone.
A Few Things to Watch Out For
Since this heat is so intense, you can’t just slap these anywhere. If they’re mounted too low or missing guards, they can actually scorch your ceiling. You also need to make sure your wiring is thick enough to handle the surge. And a pro tip? Give the heaters their own dedicated circuit. If you run too many lamps on one line, you’ll be tripping your breakers every time you want a warm shower. Not exactly the luxury experience we’re going for.
