It’s actually the secret to how much heat you can actually push into your material. The problem is that “standard” lamps usually aren’t actually standard. They often clash with the local power grid or the specific way your machine is wired, which is a headache nobody needs.
The Trade-off: Voltage vs. Heat
We build our quartz heaters to handle 110V, 480V, and 575V. Why does that matter? Because it means you can plug into North American industrial plants or European shops without having to lug around those massive, clunky step-down transformers. Here’s the real kicker: when you go with higher voltage (like 480V or 575V), you can pack way more wattage into a smaller space. You get more heat per inch of the tube. Your glass ramps up to temperature faster. But there’s a catch. High voltage puts a lot more stress on your connectors and insulation. If your wiring gauge isn’t up to the task, you’re looking at burnt-out terminals. It’s a simple fix, but one you can’t afford to overlook.
Making it Fit Your Shop
We use high-purity quartz because these things take a beating. Constant heating and cooling—expanding and contracting—can kill a cheap lamp. For glass work, we don’t just blast heat at the surface. The Reality of the Factory Floor
